I just installed a wood stove in December. We have some left over Micore 160 from my buildup of the required R2 hearth the stove manufacturer called for. Micore is a mineral fiberboard... wonder if it can be used (alone or in conjunction with arch board) to help insulate the ramp etc.

I can get 4x8 sheets 1/2" for under $40 locally. At the VERY LEAST I would think I could use it behind the FULL bricks and under/behind the arch board to add some additional insulation.
