Hybrid pans any advantage?

I am trying to figure out if there are any other advantages to a hybrid flue pan other than fitting an existing drop flue arch. I am not trying to start a drop versus raised battle, perhaps some hybrid owners could chime in. Great site, constantly learning.:D

I think the biggest advantage is the nearly double surface area over a standard drop flue or raised flue pan

I agree surface area increase is substantial, but are there any other advantages to this type of setup. One I thought of was lots of surface area with sides that were lower.

More surface area = more heat transfer = more gallons with less wood,
and maybe to bed an hour earlier.
