Hey guys...I am about to pull the trigger on a transfer pump. Looks like I will have a few spots where I need to go uphill approx...30-40' with about 1000' horizontal run. I have been looking at the honda wx15. Anyone have experience with it. Should I look at something bigger or will it work?

How much sap are you pumping? What is your line size? If you go with a gas pump stick with a Honda motor. They tend to start and run better.

Butler-
What size tubing are you using to sending the sap 1000' ft away.
Someone will be able to explain the head you need to overcome and the friction in the line.
I'm keen to learn as we also will be pushing the sap 800', and need to gain 20' of height to make the fall easier over to the shack

Using 1" pipe to transfer...probably around 100-200 gal per shot...

Once you pump over the high spot they matter little if they drop on the other end. As long as you can fill the hose, the most important number is your net lift or fall. However with a 40' lift you must be on the push end, you could not pull the sap to you with that pump or any pump except a vacuum and several sap ladders. I push on the first trip, and pull if I need further trips. I haul up to 560 gal/trip and often need 2 trips. On the push I get about 6 gpm, and 5 gpm on the pull end for 950' of 1" TF line and 15' net fall, no rise in the middle..
