Making maple syrup is like a combination of outdoor activities:D. First you set out the taps, then you go check them to see what you caught, kinda like trapping, then you take your sap to a secluded shack and boil it down, kinda like moonshining. Love it, can't wait till this season.

For us it is a hobby. Family, good friends and neighbors stopping by with good food and conversations. Our sugar shack becomes a special place during the sugaring season. We wouldn't trade it for the world. Good luck this year. Lee

I think it goes back to our roots , family traditions great times at the sugarhouse were everyone gathers. Everyone wants to fire the arch and check the syrup pan to see if its "close" . The always full coffee pot and the non stop supply of people stopping in and staying for hours ,I wouldn't trade it for anything, I look forward to this all year long.
Same here lakeview. This will be my third year and every year people learn I am doing it and more people stop. I live on a road called maple grove road and I am the only one making syrup!

I always like the challenge of making the hottest da** fire possible. Also, giving away syrup to friends and family is just a great feeling.
its a return to simple things like maple tree sap and fire married through ingenuity.
