Just wondering how everyone who gathers sap from other pump sites sets their pumps up? I have a 1" Honda wx10 pump and I trying to figure out a better option for the discharge hose this year. Just wondering how everyone sets their stuff up.

I use (2) 1" female quick connect camlocks mounted on the pump and the male end is on the discharge and suction lines for easy disconnecting/connecting.

What type of hose do you use for a discharge hose

I connect to a 3/4 inch 100psi black line that way i can push it quite a distance with out any issues. I will try to upload a pic of the connection.

I just attach 3/4 line to barbed fitting. I made a few of these so i can quickly connect the discharge line that i will leave at different locations. 8631

What is the best hose to use? I see food grade stuff from McMaster Carr but it is wicked pricey.

We are going to setup the NSF-grade mainline black poly tubing in fixed locations within feet of a place we can get the pickup since that tubing is so inexpensive. Things like using t-posts to support it. Then we hope to just need a few feet of ribbed highly flexible food grade hose with camloks as described above to connect to the various pumping stations. Will be easy to keep the transfer pump tubing clean and off the ground too.

First year doing it like this but looking forward to it!

I have a wx10 Honda pump and this year I bought a 1 1/2 discharge hose and I keep blowing a hole in the line!?! The pump has a 1" discharge so I figured the 1 1/2 soft discharge hose would work? Any tips on a better line to use?

I use hose like this on my Honda WX10 in the 1" size. Works good light flexible and you can see the sap moving in it.

You might try pool hose. We have been mis-using it for years and never had a hose failure on our low pressure pump system.

Some one said they could pump "quite a distance" with the WX10 and either 1 inch or 3/4 inch hose. How far is quite a distance if using black poly

Thanks for all the help, I am looking to keep using 1 1/2 pipe because I have the fittings already and it seemed to fill it very well. I am would like pool hose because of the flexibility of the hose. So I'll stop at the pool store this week. not like I need it now there is not saw.

I just ordered 100' of 1.25 food grade vacuum hose from www.hoseandfittingsupply.com and it was $108.00 shipping was only like $13. It was way cheaper than us plastics. Correction it was 1".

I have found that US Plastics pricing is very variable. When I got a 100 foot roll of FDA approved inch pipe for both suction and discharge it was $150 listed on their website, but I had a catalog with a price listed of $129. I had a 10% off coupon, making it $116. (You still win Regor0.)

protip: They will send you a 10% off coupon to thank you for your first order, so order a handful of those Banjo white FDA approved Cam Lever couplings first to get your coupon.
