This will be my first sugaring attempt, using 5/16" taps on some backyard trees. Should I be concerned if the trees continually weep sap for a few weeks after the taps are removed? I don't know the answer...I'm just assuming this will happen. I know the tree will eventually heal itself, but is extra loss of sap after tapping damaging to the tree's condition or future tapping output?

Don't do anything about it. Maple trees will heal them selves best if we let nature handle it. Worry not.
