What are the advantages of the reverse flow and having two spigots?

The idea is to reduce the buildup of Sugar Sand in the syrup pan. The sugar sand tends to build up on the drawoff side, in theory by changing side you can redissolve some of that nitre into the solution (sweet) and send it out the drawoff on the other side. I don't really use ours; I haven't noticed it to be very effective at it's designed purpose, and I like drawing off on the side that I usually use. I have heard that they are much more effective on a larger rig, and more useful because the larger syrup pans are also more difficult to remove and clean. Hope that explains it well enough.

Its not just theory. We change sides almost every day and that minimizes the sugar sand build up in the draw off partition. Therefor avoiding having to remove the pan and clean it.
Yes we have a favorite side to draw from too, but tough it out on the tight side of the rig to keep the pan clean.

I reverse every direction about every 3-4 hrs of boil, When sugarsand is even more of an issue I reverse every 2 hrs, it really helps reduce sugarsand.

I ordered a pan from smoky lake. But during my research i saw that some pans have two spigots and got me wondering.
Bigger pans or even boiling raw sap on a smaller one reversing is good. I find on my 2x2 front pan boiling 10-15% that reversing would not help.
