novice question

is there any diagrams or illustrations on installing tubing from tree to sugarhouse. something that gives some detail as to what needed,etc. for both downhill installations as well as uphill slope. Distances between mainlines,sizes pumps,etc. ?

There are books available, but you will do better visiting a producer near you and get a tour of their operation. Your location shows as Maine, but be more specific. You will likely find a Maple Trader who will show you. This industry seems to be unlike any other I've ever been in, we gladly share info with "the competition".

Agree with Flats, find someone close to visit. First you have to understand the lingo and once you see it once or twice it is better than any illustration or diagram. Every manufacturer has a little different twist to such things as end tree hooks, taps, even tubing colors and elasticity. A lot is personal preference, alot is based on how much you want to spend $$ and how much you plan to grow
