This evening I finished and bottled my first 5 gallons of the season. Used my new Marcland auto draw off valve/controller, boy does it make things easier. It was expensive for no more than I'm doing but I plan on doing more, but it made all the difference in the world.

Sap was flowing good today and would probably have plenty tomorrow but the weather is dropping off real cold again so I guess by the time I get home from work it will be rock hard. It is supposed to get below zero in the next few days. so the flow will stop again.

Looks good David, this morning school buses should have been cancelled but weren't. Guessing maybe 8" ? of fresh snow, but really strong blowing winds that our laneway was over 5' deep in snow drifts to get back in the yard.

This evening we had just a little sap (75 gallons) and the weather is dropping. Instead of letting it freeze in the tank I descided to cook it down. It took longer to get setup and shut down than it did to cook. But at least I don't have to worry about it since it is getting down to zero for the next couple of nights.
