I broke the plastic piece on the top of my bender. I am going to tap it out and put in a bolt. My vacuum will come in from the bottom. Finally the question. Do I really need this to have a hole thru it? It also has a place for tubing near the top that I could vent through if needed. Right now its capped

your vacuum need to come in that top piece of plastic or it wont work. You can get a piece of hollow threaded rod from an electrical store that will work or buy a new plastic piece from Hamby dairy online.

Don't toss the old one yet. There are a couple different "nose" shapes to those pieces. Couple guys on here have got one with the wrong shape and couldn't get it to hold the float assembly up for the complete dump. Keep the old one to compare with the replacement. The thread is 1/2-13, aka coarse thread. They can be duplicated if you know someone with a lathe.
