overloaded 5/16" line on gravity

has anyone ever overloaded a 5/16" line?

I have read on here about people running anything from 2 to 75 taps on a single line into a collection tank with no issue.
I am thinking of running 120-200 taps into a single line. I would need to have about a half dozen Y fittings. I would be able to collect 20- 30 feet lower than the last tap, however the sugarbush is relatively flat, I could achieve a 2 to 5 % pitch. any thoughts?

info on here says 7 gph on 5/16 gravity with minimal slope.
so if you have 200 taps and on a avg run, they are trying to produce 1 gallon per tap = 200 gallons it would take 200 gal/7gph or about 30 hours. So If you can take the 200 taps and divide them into two 100 groups that might be a safer option. I have about 35-40 taps on one 5/16 line and it runs like crazy! Sounds like you have a lot of fall at the end to 'dump' the sap.

Hi Worcester!

Whatever you do, use a couple of bucket taps as a control. My experience is my buckets always out produce my gravity systems, with the widest variances during peak flows. Thus I'm always tweaking the gravity systems trying to catch up with the buckets.
