My gear pump just stopped working on my filter press and I am switching to a wilden 1/2" diaphragm pump, can anyone tell me how big of air compessor is needed to run this pump ( would a 20 gallon work?). My filter press is a full bank 7". I have never seen one used before, are they easy to hook up? Thanks for the help!

That will be fine. I run my with a 8 gallon 125psi-pos from harbor freight

The faster you make it pump the more it uses. To use a diaphragm pump the most efficient way possible, you pump nice and slow and easy. It uses the air slower letting the compressor recover while you use it. Like any air tool, if you run it wide open you will run out of air, but if you go nice and easy it will be more than adequate.

You don't need much of a pump, I have used one for nail guns and it worked. With a 20 gallon tank it will work for sure even if the pump is small.
