idle rpms

ive been trying to find the engine idle rpm spec for those harbor freight gas engines (3hp) ive found other brands that idle at 1400, is it safe to assume the harbor freight one is around that too? thanks

I have one of those as well and my guess would be yes. However, I you want to be sure then you can buy a small engine tachometer pretty cheap on ebay(or elsewhere). It consists of reflective tape that you put on the shaft or pulley and a sensor that picks up the signal from it. Its also good for getting the rpms right on the pump itself if thats what you're doing.
