a good place to get all you want to know is at the PA Farm Show coming up next week. Also across the street from the farm show complex is the PA AG Dept. Building

Where are you located in PA? A local Maple Association can help you out.

You will need to get a license. It is $35/year. An inspector will then inspect you once every other year.

Make sure you have your water tested that you use to clean with. Also you will need a place to wash your hands with sanitizer.

I was looking around the PA department of AG website today. I didn't see a printable application, or a number to call about getting licensed. Any help?

The inspector for my area is Dean Rogers. You can call him at 814-946-7315 ext 236. He should be able to point you in the right direction.

Our PDA web site leaves a lot to be desired lol. We should suggest they use some of the farm bill maple grants to make it more user friendly.
