Lead taps?

I have unfortunately accumulated four different types of metal taps in just three years of boiling. But wait--there's more: I have no record or clear recollection of where I bought them (online). I have become concerned that some of them are made of lead, which I imagine would be bad. Are lead taps still sold (assuming they ever were)? Any insights would be appreciated. Thank you.

I have never heard of lead taps. If they were made of lead they would bend easliy or fold over when you tap them into the tree. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the older taps had some lead mixed in with the iron. Or if they are galvinized they would probably have some lead in the galvanizing.
