does anyone still use these canners?i have one with about 800 cans

I've never seen a maple producer use one , but package bee suppliers use them for canning sugar syrup for bee feed that is placed in the package bee cages to give them subsistence during transport . They seal the can , poke a few tiny hole in the top , then invert in in the package cage .

I heard this is real common in Canada to can syrup rather than put in bottles or jugs>

Very common in Canada. Most of your small sugarmakers can their maple syrup. You can purchase syrup in cans in the stores.

don't now if syrup would sell here in ny in a can.everyone is used to the bottle...sorry to say but Canadians must like it in the " CAN"
