Im using Leaders defoamer. I understand it has corn extracts in it. Has any heard of using Safflower oil, or any other kind of defoamer for people wiht corn alergies?

Michiganfarmer,
I had someone respond to an ad, asking what might be in maple syrup. She was a member of a group of people who have an allergy to corn. I sent her the link to the MSDS for Atmos defoamer. I was unaware that there were alleges to corn.
The MSDS did not mention corn. It said mono- and diglycerides.

I am a small timer and batch boil and I don't use anything but the sap. I know a man who absolutely loves real maple syrup but when he gets it from a big producer he breaks out as he does from corn syrup. He can consume mine by the pint with no problems. At first I thought it was because I used red maple, but it turned out it was my process.
I started a thread on here about it a few years back, here is the link.

I used sunflower oil last year and it worked good. Bought a bottle at grocery store and couple of cheap little bottles with squirt tops at a party store.

Dairy is a big no no if you are selling syrup

Animal fats (especially pork) are also not recommended if you are selling to the public.
