What size taps

What size taps should I be using , I run buckets on the ground with drop tubes going to them . If I run larg taps will I get more sap will thay stay open longer but most important are they going to damage the tree?

Use 5/16. I if memory serves me correct you get like 5% more sap with 7/16 but the damage to the tree is much much worse. Also is you are using tubing to buckets in not even sure they make7/16 taps like that anymore

Thx for the info I will go with the 5/16 taps . Just trying to get everything ready for the up coming season .
