I am wondering if I should go with ceramic blanket with fire broke over it or use arch board with fire brick over it. I will be insulating a 2 by 6 arch with forced air
Any help is appreciated
Thanks Cole.

We have a new Smokey Lake 2x8 and lined it with ceramic blanket. In the back where we put the wood in, we layed 1/2 firebrick over the blanket and used fire brick cement
between brick. Main idea was to protect the blanket from dings buy putting the wood into the "fire box." Worked fine for us.

Thanks Dave. We just ordered a smoky lake 2 by 6 and I wanted to get all the materials for the arch before I start building it. What kind of ceramic blanked did you use?

Just run over to sippls for the blanket, they keep 1" in stock. I ordered 50sq ft of it from California since I didn't know they had it. Well I ran short and I think it was a little less just getting it from Andy.

We bought ours from a firm in NJ,,,,about $75 for 25ft x 2 ft wide. Its been awhile. He has been on here with his product before so try the classifieds.
I see TS sells fire brick too. We paid about 2.25 or 2.50 a brick. We bought 65 and had about 8 left over.
