Guys,

Has anyone used the Pan Gasket Holder thats on page 40 of the current Leader Evaporator catalog? If so, how does it fasten to the pan(s) and how does it hold the gasket material? Did it work the way its supposed to?

Steve, my new pans from Thor came with one edge crimped with some SS to hold the pan gasket from sagging in the middle. That is likely what Leader is selling. Just go to a tin shop with your pan gasket, have them make a crimp seam for one edge of the pan gasket, they can crimp it on with their sheet metal brake. If you make it about 1/2" longer than the pan width, you can adjust when putting pans together, place the crimp edge up. The price will be far cheaper and you will support a local business. The crimp on mine had a pattern in the crimp for hold but if it is tight and not handled too rough you shouldn't need the extra traction.

Hey Dave,

Your pans have a built-in device to hold the gasket(s) up inbetween the pans? Am I understanding this right?

The crimped device from a tin shop is a good idea. I'll have to look into that.
