I made a 4'Wx5'Lx4'H pump house for my liquid ring vac. pump, stock tank for a water reservoir, electric releaser w/ internal sump pump, and moisture trap. I'm insulating it with 1" thick polystyrene insulation. The vac. pump will run 24/7 during the season. I have a few questions.

Do I need to bring cold air into the pump house? If needed, I was thinking of a dryer duct vent right behind the vac. pump. When the pump turns on, maybe the motor's fan would open the louvers enough to bring cold air in.

Should the air portion of the vac. pump exhaust discharge outside? I'm wondering if moist air might create moisture problems inside.

Thanks
Josh

I think it best to vent the discharge air outside. There is definitely mist coming from the discharge. I have used a 2" pvc pipe to vent discharge air and overflow water from the cooling water tank for a LR pump.

I'm not sure if you are using a VFD at all in the pump house but if you are it is important to keep it cool.
