This probably a recipe everyone already knows, but for those who may not, try this really excellent chocolate recipe ...
1 portion expeller pressed virgin coconut oil
1 portion maple syrup
1 portion really good quality cocoa
some salt,
some vanilla
Melt the coconut oil on a very low heat, add everything else, stir slowly until it thickens a little, remove from the heat, then pour into something and put in the freezer or refrigerator to harden. Subsequently it must be stored in the refrigerator as it will soften at room temperature. For those who don't know, coconut oil is actually really good for you. As maple syrup and cocoa are already good for you this is a wonderful food full of good stuff!
For a really fantastic variation, replace the portion of maple syrup with 1/2 portion maple syrup and 1/2 portion scotch whisky. Yummm.....
I would love to know other recipes you might have for maple based chocolate. Please also let me know if there are any healthy ingredients I can add to keep the above recipe from softening at room temperature.
