Building an evaporator

I'm building a evaporator and I've got a few questions . What should the distance be between the grate and the bottom of the pan ? Also need to know how close should the ramp get to the bottom of the pan and at what angle should it be ?

There's a wealth of info on here about that already. Your best bet is to read read read. Take it all in and make your own . Way more fun that way, and you'll learn a lot too. Good luck!
