Just trying to get started in the next year, and am unsure about what size and kind of evaporator to get. I will be starting out with about 150 -200 taps and capable of 500 within the next couple years. Im leaning tword a 2x8 lapierre storm, but just found a local guy that makes evaporators for about half price of the big guys. My question is are these evaporators just as good as the major manufacturers? All the craftsmanship looks really good and has quality materials, i justdont want to makea $4000. Mistake. Also raised or drop flue does it make that big of a difference? Thanks for the help

If your getting arch and pans for $4000 that seems pretty good, if the quality is there. You won't lose money, they hold value or even go up. I like raised flue but everybody has opinions. Another consideration is it reverse flow or cross flow? Welcome to the addiction!
