Does anyone have any opinions or ideas of whether a plastic bottle is better than a glass jar which one seals best

Just did off 175 50 ml maple leafs for a wedding, without any issues. and finished the 5 gallons into plastic. They all were fine. Did about 200 bottles three weeks back for the fair and had no issues with any of them.
It really depends on what the customers are looking for. Plastic is preferred for those that are traveling back home; while for gifts the glass seems to sell better due to the 15 scenes we use. I have three covered bridges within 5 miles of my place so they are well received, hunters like the deer scene. The guy tapping scene sit n sit n sit some more. For a party or wedding the maple leafs are a very stunning decoration especially with a candle set behind them as guest enter the room. Our fair booth will be reworked for next season with leds under the bottles to make them pop the scene out. Back lighting is a real good sales tool for syrup. Votive candles work great in a controlled setting that you wont start a fire. The plastic bottles are nice but once you see one you have seen them all; but people do like them for traveling.
I have an artist in the work force and she cant wait for our new plain bottles to come in. She is going to paint scenes on them. I would look around your area and see what makes your operation stand out or is in your area and use a theme, ducks birds, wolf, deer, see what works. Don't fill a bunch at one time, try two and see what sells. If they don't work find a neighbor and trade some glass.
Good Luck!

I pack 100 percent glass. went that way this year and my sales increased. We use a glass gallone bottle with our logo on it. sizes from 250ml up to one gallon.sell mostly 500ml though. also pack fancy glass and custom printed bottles. I have a hard time keeping up.

We use mostly plastic but always have some glass. We now have our own plastic jugs and that has been well received. For glass we use mostly gallone with our state logo on them 250- 1000 ml. Also do 250ml basque with several different scenes. Peoples taste seem to change as glass we used move fairly good volumes of doesn't hardly sell now. 50ml leafs used to sell very well but this year we have not sold 10% of what we did last year and last year was down about 50% from year before. With glass you have to pay attention to the cost of the glass as it varies considerably. Some 250ml we get are under $2 and some are $4 plus any shipping.
