Hey, sugarmakers, did you know that maple sugar is "dried" and "ground into a powder"? According to thespicehouse.com, it is.

Quote from their site: "From our home state of Wisconsin, this product is tapped from the maple trees, dried into a concentrate and then ground into a powder form."

I emailed them to tell them briefly how it is really made (maple sap is brought to a particular temp, cooled to another temp, then stirred to promote crystalization, or it can be brought to different temps and molded into a block which is then grated), so that they can put the correct information on their site and not propagate misinformation. I got a reply that what they said is just a simpler form of what I said. Except, of course, that it's not.
