Rather than keep mickey mousing around trying to fix issues that were caused by Irene I am going to run new lines late summer or early fall. I want to use CV spouts and because I do not have much time available in Feb my thought was to go with the stubby with the adapter. Am I correct in thinking I could install the stubbies in the fall and than add the CV adapter at the time of tapping first part of March?

Correct. Install your drop lines with the Stubby spout and connect your stubby to the tee (check Leader's page on adapters, the tee should be listed as a Related Products). Next spring tap your tree, set your CV adapter and hammer your spout to the CV adapter.

If you are putting in all new drops and laterals, you probably don't need the CV's the first year. Just a 5/16 x 7/16 adapter. Would save you about 10 cents per tap.
