can you guys give me a idea of how much sap and birch syrup i,de get if i tap oo say 250 white birch trees?? i just got a bunch of them to tap on one chuck of land a local family owns.i,am just wondering how much i,de get so i can plan things out..other then the few birchs i tapped this spring i,am new to birch.
theres another chuck of land just up the road thats overran with birchs.i,am trying to get that also.it,s 60 plus acres and the front part that i can see from the road is covered in birch trees.i,de like to start with 200/300 taps then go from there.

I've heard that when it runs, 2-5 gallons per tap per day is not out of the ordinary. Mike Farrell at Cornell is the region's expert in Birch. You could contact him directly for more information.

You'll get an average of 4 litres or about 1 gal of sap per tree per day over the season. Our season usually lasts about 2 weeks

We also sell a birch syrup production manual ( $40 & shipping) which is very useful.
