RO wins hands down!

RO will save you more time, but the hot water supply from a steam-away is nice. Add more taps and do both! :)

Dollar for dollar I think you go further with an RO

Do a search through the archives. this has been discussed sever times in previous threads. Lots of sage advice in the archives.

RO. Alot easier to clean.

With an RO you get typically 4x the sap processed every hour (2% to 8% concentrate), and you can even go higher. I often go to 10 and sometimes 12% concentrate by recirculating the concentrate. A steam away at best gets 75% increase. You get far more bang for your buck with an RO.

My 2x6 will evaporate about 1 gallon/minute. When recirculating my RO with 4-4" membranes will remove 4 gallons/minute. Steamaway will remove about75% of your rig. And boiling 12% is fun
