I see in the info that during the filtering demo at Leader Friday and Saturday they are going to use a NEW clear filter press? Has anyone seen these presses yet?

Yes i have one .Got it from Leader this year.Its kind of a long story but we have been using it this season.If i had to go without that press now i would quit making syrup.Both me and my wife love it.You can see the the internals of the press filling and working and the press cleans up like a dream ZERO problems.Oh its a 7 inch full bank.

They had a prototype at Verona but were not ready to put them out yet.

We saw it at Shaver-Hills open house on Saturday.Seems like a great idea as a visual sales tool for the customers.The brochure said it was a 7-1/2 " press however so there probably is no retrofit to other presses

Got the Maple News last night and it is featured on the back page. No prices listed, tho. Anyone know what the different sizes go for?

Double check these of course, but i believe the following:
7.5"=5 frame filterss 25-40 gallons=$ 1750.00
7.5"=10 FRAME filters 60-80 gallons=$2300.00
7.5"= 15 frame filters 120-160 gallons=$2900.00
These are list prices. Could be a little less depending on your local dealer.

Karl, good to hear from you! Do you need to buy different papers other than standard 7"?

Yes, my understanding is these presses will not be interchangable with standard 7" presses. They call the new press 7.5".

Why am I not surprised?

maplewalnut- you beat me to it...

I see no reason why they could not have made the clear press in a 7" configuration other than to get you in to a situation when you have to go through the OEM to get papers.

I will stick with my 7" short bank...

Karl Evans,
Do the prices you mentioned include the pump, plumbing and motor, or just the bare press?

Thanks to the world of marketing. :mad: Money is made in consumables. I'll just watch for clear syrup and my gauge on my 7". I wonder how well you can see if it is "B" syrup going through?

Yes price is complete with pump & motor. Check with your local dealer to be sure but i am quoting from a dealer list i recieved about a week ago. The real test with any new product is to see how producers like it once they use one.If you talk with leader they had concerns with mixing these clear frames with the metals ones for a reason.
