Just got a registration paper in the mail its $140 to register just would like to hear what people think is it worth it seems a lot like the open houses in Vermont but with a fee. I have a camp not to far from there so i got place to stay.

It's a chance to get out and see other operations, talk to people, and see all the venders in your back yard. We have gone the last 2 years and will be going again this year. We always pick up a few tips.

I went last time and it was really fun. Last year's featured smaller sugarhouses in Southern Maine. Small but beautiful and amazing operations were great to see. This year we'll head up north and see the biggest ones in the country, and maybe the world. The ones in Southern Maine mostly marketed their syrup locally, and were more like our own operations. These will be amazing as well. They will have some technical workshops and information as well, so it's well worth the $140 it costs. Here's a link to a website that talks about it:

They have black flies in Jackman??? We had about 6 here at home this year. Thought maybe they were extinct. Will be there Thursday afternoon.
