Dodged a bullet tonight

Early this evening, some wild weather has people wondering if a tornado or series of tornados touched down about 40 minutes from here. In my forest I had a giant 30 foot pine that came crashing down along side two of my two-bucket silver maples and three of my box elders. It knocked some of the limbs from those trees, but most importantly it missed taking out an 15 foot high sugar maple that I transplanted last year that was an anniversary gift from my parents.

Tonight I'm thanking my lucky stars that I was finished gathering sap and that there was no damage that can't be eventually cleaned up.

Firewood, many burn pine to make syrup. I burn any that needs to be removed or cleaned up.
