The last 3 days have been the best of the year so far. You wouldn't think it with the weather; snow, rain, cold - never got out of the 30's, but the sap is flowing. Collected 40 gallons from 44 taps today. It had been running about 10 - 15 prior to that. Still dealing with 100% snow cover, up to 8" in the valleys. More snow is on the way for Wednesday, but the temps. are supposed to slowly increase.

I collected 420 off 250 taps yesterday. My evaporation rate is 25g./hr. Yikes!

I nonchalantly walked out to the sugarbush yesterday morning and saw most of the bags nearly full, collected 235 gallons until I was wore out. Finally things are happening, could be a good week. More to collect today.

65 gallons from my 44 taps yesterday - best day yet. I can tell this morning things have slowed down though. Forecasted to get 5 - 10" inches starting tonight / tomorrow. Gonna be a mess.

Hey Washburn County!

It has really cut loose the last few days. Many folks getting overwelmed with sap in my area, bring extra to me, which is appreciated.
Record day for processing yesterday, about 170 gallons of Medium Amber. What a difference a year makes!

The weather looks good for sap for several more days, so we are trying to keep up.

Woke up to 10" of fresh snow this morning with more on the way. Gonna strap on the skis and take a tour. No way to get my ATV around the property now. Still have 35 gallons in my cache, so I can still be somewhat productive.
