So this year was my first year sugaring so I only tapped a few of my trees. Now I am looking around as the trees being to bud and notice the same buds on many other trees as the trees I identified as maples last summer. Are all trees with these buds maples and only maples?

Those look like red maple flowers. Trees with the exact same flowers would also be red maples.

I attached a picture of a leaf from the tree. Typical red maple?

Again I would say yes based on the shape and the saw toothed (not smooth) edges of the leaf.

Yep...now that I know a bit more about red maples and their leaves, definitely reds. Sugars are smooth and clear-cut in design, like the maple leaf on the Canadian flag.

That is Acer Rubrum (Red Maple or swamp maple) Dormant buds are red and cluster shaped.
The dormant buds on Acer saccharum (sugar maple) are brown and cigar shaped
You can find photos and Id info simply by typing in the Latin names I have provided on any search engine.
