Whats the best way to filter sugar sand???? HELP

I filter with to pre filters and then one thick finishing filter.
It worked the first time for the sand but this last time it got through some how?? I clean it every use not sure what going on.

Do you run hot water through it first? I run hot sap through the filters to open the pores

WHat are you using, wool? If so you didn't ring it did you?

using wool and no I havent rang it out it is wet with hot water before hand but isnt catching the fine sand that goes through. not sure whats goin on

Did you try to speed up the filtering by pushing down on the syrup with the back of a spoon when it was in the filter? That can force some sand through.

I didnt push down I let it sit over night while it drained the remainder, Got any hints on the best way to clean a wool filter

I use 8 prefilters and 1 wool filter no problems here
