Cloth Prefilter Problems

My RO has a reusable cloth prefilter ahead of the cartridge filter. Could it cause bacteria problems? Should I boil it in H2O daily? Treat it in peroxide? Eliminate it?

Same thing here as with the cartridge filter--I run permeate through everything at the end of a run until all the sugar is out of the filters/lines.
