I am thinking about getting a Sirofilter from Lapierre. Just wondering if anyone has one and what your results are. I have been told they use very little filter aid and that you actually clean and reuse the filters and I was also told they can filter quite bit of syrup like maybe 80 gallons or more before the filters need to be cleaned. They also seem priced failry well $2100 or so for the 24" one comapred to a 10" press. Thanks for any input.

I have seen them but not used one. I like the concept for all the things you mentioned. Seemed like a good design to me.

Dollar for dollar the square inches of filter area are much less than you get with a filter press for the same money. In my opinion filter press papers are cheap and easy to change, i dont care to try and wash and reuse a thing like the siro filter bag, and as for the filter aid using less, its pretty cheap so unless a huge volume of syrup i dont see it being a big issue. Now that is just my thoughts, if they filter better etc then maybe i could have my opinion changed but as far as i know they do not do any better or worse of a job at filtering
