Would a stainless steel pan built in 1991 be soldered with lead free solder or were they still using lead in 1991? Thanks,
-Dave

I believe Leader was the first company to start phasing out lead solder, beginning in 1991. You should call them to check, or get a lead-test kit from the hardware store. Very easy to tell with the kit. Most other companies phased out lead beginning in 1994.

Thanks everyone, below is the response from Leader. Thanks,

David,
We stopped using lead solder between 91 and 92. The only way to know for sure is to buy a lead testing kit at your local hardware store and test the solder.
Thank you for your inquiry.
