Record Day

My little backyard sugarbush (6 trees/8 taps) set a 2013 record yesterday with 9 gallons of still crystal clear sap. But more syrup yet to come but the temps do not look good for much more run here.

I also had a record sap haul day on 4/5/13 I got 2500 gal of sap. To get it I even had a guy who was selling me sap (not included in the 2500 gal figure) offered to and went to get a 280 gal load in his truck. It was sure hectic. I drive school bus but on that day, after my morning run I saw the tanks full and called the boss to get a personal day. He gave it to me. That 2500 gal made 52 gal of syrup, as the sugar % was dropping. The RO worked overtime, concentrated and then recirculated concentrating even more.

Dave, I only wish my bush would give me 52 gal from 2500 sap, on a GOOD day! I'm usually at 60:1, or worse.
