Looks a little fast compared to the factory made units! im affraid if your pump gets a gulp of sap it will simply blow the diaphram or worst as the inlet and outlet cant handle that much volume that fast, kinda like what happens when your hydrolock a compressor, engine, or vac pump, pieces will fly! There is a reason that mudsucker pumps and such have a low gear reduction!

the pump ran for atleast 12 hours today and worked great..i pulled 23 inches of vacuume the whole time and got alot more sap then i ever have outta thoses trees.

i did a bunch of research before i built this pump and according to what i found this pump runs well within the proper ranger of rpm's..it,s not running as fast as it looks..the math comes out to 97 rpms..the info i show shows a low of 20 rpms to a high of 130 rpm,s.

Looks fast but if works good for you! I like how the diaphragm is being worked straight up and down instead of at an angle like the gear motor does on the factory pumps.

where are you in harrisville???? What's the nake of you operation, and have we met in the past. I have family and friends up there and would love to see your operation. I'm also the vice president of the Lewis County Producers Association, and was wondering if you are a member or not? If not I can drop off information also, cause producers like yourself that love to create are people we are looking for. If you are a member then I would love to here some input on how we can help in anyway and what needs there might be in the northern part of our area. thank you

That looks real nice. Can you post a few pictures of how you have the arms / pulleys rigged up. also what brand pump are you using. it looks like one of the Bosworth 2400 FDA pump. if it is did you swap out the valve from the flapper to the unbrella? How many taps and how long are your mainlines?

yes,i used bosworth 2400 foodgrade pumps. i got them off ebay..a guy sells all kinds of pumps..i think it,s pumpvendor. we got buryed in sap this week but once things slow down i,ll get more pic,s and give you more info on my pump.i based my design on how much stroke thoses pumps needed to go from top to bottom on each full stroke..i came up with 2 and 1/4 inches.then i had to figure out how much cam i needed based on how i built my rocker arm..i used whats called a duplex jig to design the rocker arm.a duplex jig is used to get gold out of pay dirt..it pumps air thur steel shot to get the gold out.
