I ran out of the metal sap bag spiles and began using cdl smart spouts 17 cents each and also lapierre 16 cent seasonal spouts. They work perfectly.
I am done buying the expensive metal spouts.

I got rid of the metal 7/16 spouts and went to 5/16 health spouts years ago and will never drill a 7/16 again.

I too tried some lapierre spouts Worked awesome with metal and pvc bags holders once in a while they would pull out when I was unloading a full bag of sap but easy to put back in. Hung some 5 gallon pails on them to filled one up once and nothing ever fell off only lost sap when I pulled off tap. Will be selling all my metal taps now. Even easier to pull taps out of trees wiggle a little bit and came rite out. My five year old nephew was even able to get them out

I switched to 5/16 several years ago. Yes these are being used with sap sack holders. They have just as big a lip for the sap sack holder as the metal 5/16 spiles for sap sacks.
I put out 200 bags on the straight lapierre seasonal spouts - they work great.
