First, should I have supports under the pans? I have a 2-6 arch with a2-2 pan and a yet to be aquired 2-4 pan. It will have dividers in it. What should I have for distance to bottom of pan to insulation? These are flat pans. My ramp from the firebox to chimney is 9" to 6" without insulation. Will an 8" stack be big enough? I know I will have more questions as I proceed but this will help for now. Thanks!!!

No supports necessary, the pans can sit on the side rails only.
I'm guessing here, but I think an 8" stack with a total heght of 12 feet would be good.
I would build the ramp so the fire gets squeezed up to maybe 2" from the rear pan. It would be nice to be able to adjust the angle of the ramp in case the design needs tweaking.

I should be able to tweak the distance to pan bottom using brick and sand till I get it right. I used the dimensions from a few designs on this site to come up with these measurements.
