Steam density

Some days I cannot see though the steam coming off my pan other days light right now I can see no problem! The boil in the pan looks the same.

Can someone explain steam density?

Does less steam desity equal less evaporation?

More so has to do with ambient temp. The colder it is the quicker the "water vapor" condenses and is visible. Water vapor itself is invisible. It's the condensation you see.
