cloudy buckets from some taps

I never remember what I should do when the sap is running cloudy. I throw out any that has yellowed but some of mine are starting to come cloudy. Is it the end?:o

I had very little sap yesterday and what was cloudy I threw away. Most of my taps were dry. This might be the end; but I am leaving my taps in through next week - just in case nighttime temps give us a freeze and the sap starts flowing again. :(

I don't think its too cloudy, you can still see the bottom of the buckets, its just a tad cloudy. I just collected 14 gallons off of my 12 taps, and a couple were a little cloudy. I may let it go and see how the syrup tastes since this will be the last boil.

I think I'm done, did my last boil today. Leaving taps in for the next week to see if I get anything, my sap was pretty yellow and cloudy though, temps don't looks good either. But with cloudy sap I would boil it cause it will make dark syrup, might have an off taste, but remember all syrup is worth something

I don't care how dark it is, it is just for our family and I have given out the friends jars already. I have 14 gallons of sap as of yesterday. I havbe to go out and check last nights flow. but its almost 40 degrees here. No flow I just checked them. Its gonna hit 50 today, not sure I can keep it cold enough. Snow around my sap container is almost gone

Boil a couple quarts down on the kitchen stove. You can then judge if you want to do the rest of the sap....

Yup, no problems. Just watch our when the buds open up; that's when you'll start to get bitter off-flavors.

I generally throw out cloudy and yellow sap if I expect more good sap to follow (i.e., at the end of a warm stretch of weather before a predicted hard frost).

I also would throw out cloudy or yellow sap if most of my sap is clear.

For the record, I have made good tasting grade A syrup from cloudy sap and I have made bud run from clear sap.
