Anyone know where to buy fire bricks at an affordable cost? I'm in need of some to finish off my evaporator, but the local tractor supply is out of them and a local heating company wants $4ea. Hoping to be boiling by Tues at the latest. If anyone has any extra lying around or knows of a good supply, please let me know. I'm located a bit west of Albany, NY. Thanks.

Bascoms in alstead has them for $2 each, probably a couple hours from you but might be the closest place to have them

Yeah, I wish they were closer, but unfortunately they're 5+ hrs from me and that's just one way.

You might try the ceramic supply stores in your area.

Some of the brick they have might be pricy and specialized, but they might have some basic firebrick as well.

Check out concrete supply places and around here you can get them at Menards. Not sure if they have them out there but like a Lowes or Home Depot would be worth a try.

Thanks, I'll look into some of those. I know Tractor Supply is all out of them and won't have them again until winter.

I just bought 50 full brick for 1.95 each at a masonry supply store. I didn't ask about half brick.
