Hard to tell, looks like at least 3 trees grew together. hard to tell how old it is, but I bet it puts out some good sap.

I see eight buckets in the picture. . . . Are there two trees in the shot? What a beauty!

Love it. I thought my 4 bucket tree out front was pretty good!

I would venture closer to 200 years, bet this tree runs good no matter what with the water next door. Our newest bush has alot of flat rock in it,dry summers(like last one) there's not much running when we had buckets there except for where a stream runs by the trees.

Yes there are 2 trees in the shot. This is along the Cold River.

I would have to say the tree must be close to 185 to 200years old.

Probably should not put more than 2 or 3 buckets on such a spectacular old tree. They grow VERY slowly. If you want to have fresh wood to tap every year you should limit the number of taps and move the tapping location every year. You'll get more sap per tap and you won't slowly girdle the tree.

Its not my tree, I just drove by it and it looked interesting enough to take a shot of. There must be 1/4 mile of very nice trees along this stretch of river they all have buckets on them. Some of these trees are marked with orange paint. I hope they are not doomed.

The river is on one side and a nice hay field on the other. These trees could tell some stories I am sure.
