Food grade electrical tape I hope!
I reused an old piece of mainline that had been tapped before for a section of my vac bush. I have holes on the bottom that have been sealed with electrical tape for 4 years now.

I would also mark the mainline with orange or pink flagging and do a proper repair after the season is over.
