is aluminum milk can ok for syrup storage until it is finished

Is it ok to store syrup in aluminum milk can for a short time until I'm able to finish it? It will be put in can hot and stored until finished .maybe a week at most.....?????? Any thoughts

Yes indeed it is, I use them have for years I used to always cook in aluminium pots but I forget what the food tasted like
