sugar content?

Another dumb question from a newbe, 2nd year. At the start of the season sap was at 2.6 Tested it today and its at 1.6 does it always drop as season is comming to an end?

My experiance is yes it does drop as the season comes to a close.

Mine has actually risen this year but its also gotten colder as the season has progressed.

Generally sugar content drops over the course of the season. Sugar is created by enzymes turning starch stored in the tree into sugar, and there's only so much starch to start with, thus content dropping over the season.
