Looks as if by the end of the week and the weekend it will start to open up again, I hope! With six new inches of snow on the ground from this last storm and the weather starting to look like sugaring weather again, I hope the sap God's will do us all well and go long.

That sounds like good news to me. Only collected about 4.5 gal. this afternoon. Most taps are frozen.

As I look at the Accu Weather extended forecast for my area, it looks good starting either Friday or Saturday and continuing thru April 13. If correct I should be boiling thru 4/15-16. That would make this my best season ever IF IT HAPPENS. Here's to hoping. No overnights above freezing for more than 2 nights in a row. I realize forecasts are always wrong, but I can hope can't I?

I think we're on "go" for a second half of the season that will be at least as good as the first half. My trees show NO sign of budding, and every time the temperature noses above 35 degrees they try to pump sap past the ice sculpture that is my laterals. I've already outdone last year...the lost year... with half as many taps. Good luck guys!

Doc.
